It was 30 years ago today…

How can it be 30 years since I was a bridesmaid for my sister at her wedding?

Who could have known that in 2020, which seemed forever away that we would be living life in lockdown and as if we are in a dream that you can’t seem to wake up from??

Everything seemed so easy then, but then why wouldn’t it when you were almost 16 and had your whole life in front of you?

It was exciting and fun to be a part of such a joyful celebration – my sister, seven years my elder was about to start married life and I got to be part of the bridal party.

The church was freezing inside, being July, but a summer honey moon vacation in Europe was awaiting the newly weds after the ceremony.

Only 5 years ago we celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, but this year, with all that is going on, and NOT going on that it seems to have a different feel altogether.

Lots of happy memories have taken me back to that time and who I was in that time and what I imagined my future to hold.

Whilst nobody could have predicted living in a world quite like this, one thing remains very clear.

Love, relationships, family and connection are more important than ever.

Whether it be your biological, extended or chosen family – it is who we spend time to be with that makes us who we are.

I am so very grateful to them and who they are to me.
