You may or may not have heard of Reiki – I certainly had not until about 9 years ago when I first discovered it through a practitioner who I had gone to see for a natural treatment for a blocked ear.
As she candled my ear, I was invited to try an additional treatment to help with improving my overall well-being.
She told me the reason why I had such a persistent blocked ear and discomfort was because my body was trying to tell me something through the symptoms and the only way it could get my attention was to respond and react to pain.
I have always been open to natural treatments so when it was introduced to me in such a delightful and beautiful way, it was an easy decision to make.
Having such a profound effect on me and my overall health it led me to eventually training to become a Reiki Practitioner myself.
Reiki is a natural treatment that encourages the body’s self-healing processes by correcting the imbalance between the mind and body which can cause disease to manifest.
It can be done on yourself or by someone else doing it on you.
Training to use Reiki is done by attunement from a Reiki Master.
There are many benefits of Reiki which include, but are not limited to
- Feelings of inner peace
- Stress reduction and increased relaxation
- Promotion. of creativity
- Pain relief
- Release of emotional blocks and suppressed feelings
In some ways it could be likened to the experience of meditation – leaving you feeling very rested, or as if you have just enjoyed a deep sleep with your mind and body becoming present and still enough to hear what messages and information your body may be sending you.
